How To Make Baked BBQ Pork Chops
(More detailed instructions and video in recipe card below.)
- Prepare the pork chops. Pat the pork chops dry with paper towels and season both sides with salt and pepper. Place in a baking dish.

- Make the BBQ Sauce. Whisk together the ketchup, chili sauce, brown sugar, honey, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, vinegar, paprika, garlic powder, cayenne, and celery salt.

- Add BBQ Sauce. Pour the BBQ sauce over the pork chops, making sure they’re well coated.

- Cover and bake. Cover the baking dish tightly with aluminum foil and bake at 350°F for 45 to 50 minutes.
- Flip and baste. Remove the foil and carefully flip the pork chops. Spoon plenty of the BBQ sauce over the tops.

- Finish baking and broil. Return the pork chops to the oven for about 10 minutes. Spoon more sauce over the pork chops and broil for 2 to 5 minutes, watching closely, until the sauce is bubbling and caramelized.
- Let rest and then serve.
What Temperature Should Pork Chops Be Cooked To?
Because pork chops vary considerably in thickness, cooking time can vary. A thermometer is the best way to tell if they are done without overcooking them. Pork is done when it reaches an internal temperature of 145 degrees.

Recipe Tips
I like to use thick-cut pork chops with the bone in because I find they have more flavor. Plus they are less likely to get overcooked and dry out.
Boneless pork chops can be used, but they cook more quickly and are more prone to drying out. If using boneless pork chops, start checking early with an instant read thermometer. Pork is done when it reaches an internal temperature of 145 degrees F.
Cooking time will vary based on the thickness and size of your pork chops.
The sauce has a little bit of heat to it. If you want your pork chops spicy, double the amount of cayenne pepper.
Use Heinz Chili Sauce, not Sriracha Sauce or another hot sauce.
Storage
Leftovers will keep in an air tight container in the refrigerator for 3 to 4 days.

Oven Barbecued Pork Chops taste great with Cheesy Potatoes and Southern-Style Green Beans. Or even Scalloped Potatoes. Makes a great dinner the whole family will enjoy!

Absolutely delicious.
Sounds wonderful, I am going to make this very soon.
Love this! Iโve made this for my family five or six times. Itโs a keeper!
I really enjoyed this recipe! I did modify the bbq sauce by adding some roasted peaches from my trees because I love peach bbq. My pork chops were a little tough, but were still moist. I ate it over rice with broccoli. Yum!
How long would you bake for thin cut pork chops?
Not more than 25 minutes
The pork came out very tough. The sauce was excellent and I will use it again, but with a fattier meat cooked at a lower temperature. I think this would work better with boneless pork ribs.
OMG this was the best barbecue pork chops I ever made the sauce was hands down the winner in this recipe.
I didn’t have chili sauce so I improvised with adding 2 teaspoons Frank’s red hot sauce and added 1 Tablespoon black strap molasses and added more honey. Turned out fantastic my husband said he wished I cooked more pork chops as he could have eaten more it was that good.
The sauce was excellent mixed in with the hot cooked white rice. The chops didn’t dry out as I used to make.
Thanks for sharing will try this barbecue sauce on other meat like chicken thighs.
Temp should be 425
Baking to fast and they will be dry and tuff to eat. The slower the better.
