Blueberry Dumplings Are super easy to make with a can of crescent roll dough. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream for a wonderful fruity dessert.

Star Ingredient- Crescent Dough
I love baking with crescent dough. It is a wonderful kitchen short-cut and adds lots of buttery flavor to desserts and casseroles. In addition to blueberry dumplings, I also like to make Peach Crescent Dumplings, Pumpkin Crescent Braid, Cinnamon Rolls Crescents, Crescent Coffee Cake and Fireball Apple Dumplings.
To make these dumplings, crescent roll dough is stuffed with blueberries, covered in a buttery sugar mixture and baked until golden.
How To Make
- Prepare the oven and pan. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and spray a 9×13-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
- Assemble Dumplings– unroll the crescent dough and separate into triangles. Mound about 1/4 cup of blueberries on the wide end of each crescent triangle. Stretch the dough up and over the blueberries and roll like you would when making a crescent roll. Tuck the ends under to seal the blueberries in. Place in the prepared baking dish.
- Make the butter sugar mixture. Whisk together melted butter, vanilla extract, brown sugar, granulated sugar, and flour. Pour over dumplings.
- Finish with cinnamon and Sprite. Sprinkle with cinnamon and carefully pour the Sprite into the baking dish adding it between the dumplings.
- Bake. Bake for about 30 minutes.
- Serve. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.
Can I Use Frozen Blueberries?
Either fresh or frozen blueberries can be used for this recipe.
Why Use Sprite or 7-Up?
The carbonation helps lighten up the texture of the dumplings and because it is sweet, it cooks down into a syrupy sauce.
Storage
Best eaten shortly after it is made but can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3 days. Reheat in the microwave, or better yet, the oven.
