It’s a meal with all the flavors of Thanksgiving but none of the effort.
How To Make
To make Crock Pot Chicken and Stuffing with Green Beans, season 3 boneless, skinless chicken breasts with salt and pepper and place them in a lightly greased 6-quart slow cooker. Pour a box of dry stovetop stuffing (just the mix- DO NOT add anything to it) on top of the chicken.
In a bowl, whisk together 1/2 cup of sour cream, 1/4 cup mayonnaise, 1/3 cup water, and a can of condensed cream of chicken soup. Spread the mixture on top of the dry stuffing. If you wish, you can leave out the mayonnaise and add 3/4 cup sour cream, but I like the way the combo of the two works together.
Scatter a bag of frozen green beans on top and season them with salt and pepper. Cook on HIGH for 4 hours and it’s ready to dish up. Couldn’t be easier!
Equipment Needed
A 6-quart slow cooker is the perfect size for this recipe. I use a Hamilton Beach Set & Forget 6-Quart Programmable Slow Cooker. It is reasonably priced and holds up well. I have used mine countless times and it’s still going strong.
Storage
Leftovers will keep for 4 days in an airtight container in the refrigerator and can be reheated in a microwave.

This was so easy and so yummy! I doubled the recipe because I had a ton of chicken and two boxes of stuffing, used fresh green beans and did not add the cream of chicken (because I forgot) then served it with Mac and cheese and canned cranberries and it literally was like thanksgiving prepared in no time. Next time I would even add French fried onions towards the end in the crock for a mock up green bean casserole.
I did 2 1/2 hours and the chicken was done. So I recommend this to make it less dry.
Is this on high for 4 hours or 4 & 1/2 hours? The post says 4 hours twice, but the recipe card says 41/2. I’ll start checking the chicken at 4 hours. ( I’m just worried about the green beans. LoL!) I’m trying this out for Supper, tonight. I’m gonna add cranberry sauce as a side. I can’t wait!!!
Cooking times can really vary between slow cookers. It should be done in 4 hours, but if you know your crock pot cooks a alittle on the slower side, I would do it for 4 1/2 hours.
Ah! Yes, it sure was done in 4 hours. Thank you. ♥️
An absolute delicious ‘keeper’ recipe. Honestly, I’m mind- blown to how it all came together! The chicken is so tender. And it’s loaded with flavor. I love how it truly does mimic Thanksgiving. In fact, once I read & thought about the ingredients a few times through, I decided to give it even more of that feeling. So, I paired it with cranberry sauce as a side. It was perfect! My only adjustment is that I added probably about 14oz of frozen green beans.

Pretty yummy recipe! Added 16 oz frozen green beans and 16 oz frozen corn…also took some advice from a previous comment and combined stuffing mix along with chicken broth to the other ingredients and poured over chicken before the veggies…it was pretty tasty 😋
Delicious however the stuffing stayed too dry. I think I would moisten them before cooking.
my only question is do u add water to crock pot?
Water is in the recipe.
I made this exactly as instructed! This is going to be a regular recipe for me! Well I fibbed a little bit. I did cut my chicken breasts in half as they were so huge! The only thing I would change next time is that I will add two bags of frozen green beans, I thought they were exceptionally delicious and added a nice salty sweet combination to the dish.
Good flavor but too dry
Can this be baked in oven and how long?
Thanks
Look for a recipe that says “company chicken” it’s awesome!
Can you use fresh green beans?
Do you use the seasoning packet of the stuffing mix?
The stovetop stuffing I use has the seasoning already mixed in, but yes, I would add it.
Can you use rotisserie chicken as a shortcut. Would the cooking time be the same?
I want to make this recipe but with 6 chicken breast. Would the cooking time need to increase? And if so, by how much time?
You can use the same cooking time for 6 breasts.
This was delicious!! I did add a bit more liquid since I made it in my Nesco which is metal but used the slow cook setting. Used 1 cup sour cream and no mayo. Loved the flavor of the whole dish, the ease of making it and will definitely make this again. The chicken was so moist!! Excellent recipe.
I’m planning on making this recipe this week. Curious if you sprinkled the seasoning packet that comes with the Stovetop stuffing on the chicken or the dry stuffing cubes? I suppose it doesn’t matter but wanted to make it like you did since it looks so darn good! Thank you.
I have Pepperidge farm stuffing mix in a bag can I use that?
Can’t wait to try it.
In the picture the chicken looks very dry. Is it?
How many carbs per serving?
Can I do low for 8 hours?
Laura did you try on low for 8 hours? If so how did it turn out?
