Canned Green Bean Recipe

This is a simple, easy recipe for stretching that last can of green beans in the pantry.

How To Make

Start by pan frying a few diced red potatoes in a mixture of bacon grease and butter. This gives the potatoes maximum flavor. Then add a chopped vidalia onion and keep cooking until the potatoes are soft.

Add a drained can of green beans, a little ranch seasoning, some black pepper, and a good amount of crumbled bacon. Let everything get warm and it is ready to be served.

Country Ranch Green Beans and Potatoes Recipe Tips

You’ll have to be careful about how much ranch seasoning you add because it is salty. Start with 1 teaspoon and go from there. Keep adding a little until you get the flavor you like.

You can leave the bacon grease out and just use butter if you prefer.

  1. I make this all the time for me and my husband. I actually triple it so we have leftovers. This dish is easily warmed up in the microwave and all I make to go with it is meat. Chicken, beef and pork all taste great with this recipe! We are having it for dinner tonight with pork loin chops baked in mushroom gravy!

  2. I’ve made this several times. It’s a favorite in our home. I’ve double and tripled the recipe, and taken it to gatherings. People always ask for the recipe. I never have left overs.

  3. Most excellent, I made it exactly like the recipe but doubled it for my crew. LOVED it. I made it again for my neighbor and left out the bacon but used bacon salt and they loved it. (She does not cook nor eat meat.) Her family does but were not missing it.

  4. this was a good recipe idea for me to make a little twist to it. I oven roasted the potatoes w/onions and bacon when done I put in a pint jar of my canned green beans and sprinkled homemade Ranch seasoning on. Turned out great thanks for the idea.

  5. Can you tell me what is Ranch seasoning? Is it what I use to make the dressing? Guess I am somewhat slow on this one. Recipe sounds wonderful I am sure my family will love it. Thanks for your efforts and sharing.

I use the Hidden Valley packets that are in the salad dressing section of the store.

  6. I made this last night and it was a big hit. Will be making again. Thanks for the recipe! 🙂

  7. This is the easiest, most delicious, country ranch green bean potato dish I have ever made. I’m sending this to my family and friends. Yum yum yum.

  8. This was awesome and I will definitely make this again. Anybody have any idea on the nutrition info for it? Obviously it’s not low calorie, but if somebody has it, it would save me from trying to figure it out!

Tasty recipe, but I put ranch powder in a lot of things. There’s nothing proprietary about this recipe. [*shrug*]

You are welcome to leave your link here, but I counted 5 differences in ingredients/amount of ingredients which is a lot for such a simple and basic recipe.
