I like to serve Easy Grape Salad really well chilled and then each bite into a grape is like a cool, refreshing treat.

Easy Dessert Salad

If you’re tired of bringing the same old pasta salad or potato salad to every potluck you go to, change it up with this Easy Grape Salad. People will quickly become converts. There is nothing not to love about this easy dessert salad that’s so sweet and satisfying.

Ingredients

The grapes (I use both red and green) get coated in a creamy mixture of cream cheese, sour cream, sugar, and vanilla extract. I also like to add some toffee bits for added sweetness and extra crunch. You could chop up a few Heath bars instead for the same effect.

A mixture of brown sugar and chopped pecans gets added on top. It’s as easy as that!

Tips For Making Easy Grape Salad

  • Be sure to wash and dry your grapes well. I like to rinse them in a colander and then spread them out on paper towels to dry for a few hours.
  • One pound of grapes equals about 2 1/2 cups.
  • It’s perfectly alright to cut the grapes in half if you wish.
  • Use crushed Butterfingers of chopped Snickers bars for a change in flavor if you wish.
  • Leave the nuts out if you like or use walnuts instead.

The. First time I made this , I forgot to buy pecans.
I crushed up some of my Honey Bunches of Oats
Cereal with just a little brown sugar for the topping.!
Everyone loved it so much I never made it any other
    way.

  2. Crash says:

I serve most things so my guests can “have it their way.” Even tossed salad gets put on the table in many small bowls. Then the picky ones or ones with allergies are not excluded. They make their own. In the case of this grape salad, I am not into a lot of sweets so beside the chilled grape concoction, I have several bowls – granola, brown sugar, pecans, walnuts.

  3. Kris says:

I made this to take to Christmas party. Instead of toffee I put in crushed candy canes. It was a real hit. Delicious according to each and every one that ate it.

  4. Amy S. says:

I’ve been making this for years, but I use crushed Butterfingers candy bars on top. Always a huge hit.

  5. Luann Driezen says:

If going to store overnite, is it ok to add to add toffee bits before hand or wait till serving time? Will the soften?

  6. Celia says:

Can you cut the grapes in half? I want to serve this at a party that will have small children; halved grapes are safer for little ones. Thank you ๐Ÿ˜Š

    1. Christin Mahrlig says:

Yes, you can cut them in half.

I have been making this grape salad for years and it is always a hit. You know it’s good when you get asked for the recipe.

  8. GrandmaG says:

I’ve made a similar salad numerous times in years past, and it always so delicious and refreshing! The only differences were that nuts and brown sugar were not in it. Instead, we mixed the rest of the ingredients and let it sit covered overnight in the refrigerator. Then when ready to serve, we added some kind of crunchy granola cereal or crudely crushed granola bars. Always a crowd pleaser! Think I will actually make it for Christmas this year – colors are perfect!

    1. Christin Mahrlig says:

Crunchy granola must be so delicious sprinkled on top! You are right, the colors are perfect for Christmas!

  9. Dacia says:

Hey do you stir it all together when ready to serve and do i have to use nuts at all ??

    1. Christin Mahrlig says:

You don’t have to use the nuts and no need to stir the topping in before serving unless you want to.

      1. Lori Klepper says:

        Love it

  10. Nicole says:

I’m salivating right now…all those grapes and they are creamy, with some crunch on top. Looks so delicious
