Boozy Cranberry Sauce- only 4 ingredients needed to make this Thanksgiving favorite. But this is not your typical cranberry sauce. It’s wonderfully flavored with port and orange liqueur.

Not only are there just 4 ingredients, this recipe can be made in just 15 minutes. So easy!
The sweetness of the port enhances the flavor of the sweet/tart cranberries really well.
What Is Port?
Port is a Portuguese fortified wine made from grapes from the Douro Valley in Northen Portugal. I have had the good fortune of spending time in the Douro Valley and it is wonderful. I higly recommend it. We stayed at Octant Douro which was amazing. I would go back in a heartbeat.
Port is a sweet dessert wine. You can use any port but I recommend using the expensive, highly aged Port just for sipping. Either a Ruby or a Tawny Port is fine.

Can I Use Frozen Cranberries?
Yes! You can use frozen cranberries instead of fresh
How To Serve
Of course cranberry sauce is meant to go with turkey. Buttermilk Marinated Turkey Breast, Crock Pot Turkey , and Cajun Roast Turkey are some of my favorite turkey recipes. And don’t forget the sides. Sweet Potato Casserole with Marshmallows, Cheesy Green Bean Casserole, Buttermilk Mashed Potatoes, Southern Cornbread Dressing, and Yeast Rolls are my go to Thanksgiving sides.

How To Make
Boil the sugar, a little water, the Port and cranberries in a saucepan for 8 to 10 minutes. Let cool and then pulse in a food processor 3 to 4 times. Stir in orange liqueur and refrigerate. Best made at least a day in advance so the flavors have time to blend.
Storage
Will keep for a week in an airtight container in the refrigerator or can be frozen for up to 2 months.
