I’ve even heard of people cooking an entire Thanksgiving meal with an army or slow cookers!

Slow Cooker Thanksgiving Side Dishes

Not only does using a crockpot free up valuable oven space, they are great for making things a little in advance and keeping them warm until everyone is ready to eat.

Below are some of my favorite ways to turn a slow cooker into a Thanksgiving day assistant.

Make the Turkey in the slow cooker.

Turkey is probably my favorite Thanksgiving food to cook in a crockpot. You’ll have to settle for cooking a turkey breast since it’s impossible to fit an entire turkey in a slow cooker, but you’ll be amazed at how tender and juicy turkey breast cooked in the crockpot is. Plus, you can easily turn the crockpot cooking juices into a gravy to serve alongside the turkey.
