Ham Tetrazzini is rich, creamy, and cheesy with lots of cubed ham and a few mushrooms and peas. This is an easy, filling family meal that is great for using up leftover Thanksgiving or Easter ham. It’s practically a one pan meal. You just need a pan plus a pot to cook the pasta in.
What Is Tetrazzini Made Of?
Tetrazzini is typically made with pasta, meat (usually chicken or turkey), cheese, and a creamy sauce. It often includes mushrooms and/or peas.
Tetrazzini is one of my very favorite things to cook for dinner. What’s not to like about pasta, meat, and cheese? If you have leftover turkey, try this Turkey Tetrazzini. It’s made from scratch, without canned soup, and it is so delicious.
Great Way To Use Leftovers
I love recipes like this Ham Tetrazzini recipe that take a little leftover meat and stretch it into a filling, economical family meal. Just add a salad and maybe some bread and you have a meal that will satisfy even the hungriest of teenagers.
I adore mushrooms so I always add them to tetrazzini, but they could be left out. You could sub broccoli for the peas if you like.
Ham Tetrazzini Recipe Tips
If you want to make this dish spicy, add 1/2 teapsoon of crushed red pepper flakes.
Instead of all ham, you could use a combination of ham and turky for this recipe.

Made this recipe with a ham on sale post Christmas at Walmart ($10 marked down from $20). Doubled the recipe, 1 is in the freezer. Also made the ham pot pie on the same website, again doubled, one frozen. Deep dish pie crusts on sale for 50 cents each. I still have ham left for ham salad sandwiches & some ham & bean soup & a quiche or two. So for about $20 ( cost of beans, piecrust, veg , pasta & dairy) I have a ton of well balanced delicious family meals . Thanks Christin for offering some well balanced, delicious uses for leftover ham.
do you have to put pea in it I hate peas
4 stars…easy to make. Tasty
Hi Cheri,
I also hate peas. Whenever I do a recipe that requires peas, I substitute them with corn. I have not found a recipe that made it taste not very pleasant. That is how I am making this recipe, with corn instead of peas. Good Luck. I hope it works out for you.
Yes. You must put peas in it.
๐๐
Absolutely not. You can put any veggies you want. Might have to saute with onions at the beginning, depends on the veggies you choose. As another Lady said she used peppers, zucchini… And another seasoning. Make it yours dear! You dont always have to have to follow the recipe to the “T”. I’ve made this many times, I actually came back to see if anyone has added comments with other variations, I didn’t think of yet! Have a good day! I hope yours turns out amazing for you! I always add some fresh minced garlic. I love garlic in everything!!!
This was delicious will make this again added garlic, peppers and celery. Nice crunch.
Delicious ๐ my family said its definitely a keeper! Thank you for sharing
Made this last night with leftover ham from Christmas. The ham had a maple pecan glaze that was made in a slow cooker so flavor got all the way through it. I did have to add another 1/4 cup of milk to loosen the sauce up some.
But it went over big, even with the granddaughters. Also used fettuccini instead of spaghetti.
I haven’t made this yet, but the recipe looks to be full of salt/sodium! I cook for someone who has heart problems/high blood pressure, and who needs to maintain a “low salt diet.” Truthfully, no one needs to consume this much salt. I will have to make some substitutions and eliminate a few things to be able to serve.
Ham is salty.. can’t do much about that. TruthfullY, If the person you cook for is supposed to be on a low salt diet. Maybe they shouldn’t be eating HAM.
There’s a bazillion recipes on the internet. TruthfullY, maybe you should stop bashing ones you HAVENT EVEN MADE.
MOVE ON…
P. S. I forgot to add that I HAVE made this and it was great! I added roasted red peppers and a clove of garlic.
My grandson doused it with Soy Sauce. Lol…. Said it needed “something”…
EVA, Haven’t made this YET? You have some serious health issues, including a low salt (sodium) diet! Ham is salty! Maybe one of the things you could eliminate is the ham itself. Look for another cut of pork instead (chops,steak,roast,etc.). And possibly the different Methods/ways to cook these Cuts. Just a suggestion that’s all.
Amazing. Will make this again.
Sooooo cheesy!
Only change I made was using cream of bacon instead of chicken or mushroom and I excluded the mushrooms since I didn’t have any.
Hubby loved it!
I’m so sad they stopped making the cream of bacon!!
You can buy Cream of Bacon Soup on Amazon.
