Sweet and Spicy
The sauce coating these meatballs is both sweet and spicy. A little cayenne pepper balances the sweetness in the grape jelly. Add as little or as much as you like. Add 1/2 teaspoon for just a little spiciness or 1 teaspoon for more heat.
Frozen Meatballs
This recipe makes use of frozen meatballs for ease and convenience. There’s no need to thaw them before adding them into the slow cooker. Any style of frozen meatballs can be used.
Chili Sauce
Be sure to use the right chili sauce. I use a bottle of Heinz Chili Sauce which can be found with the ketchup. Do not use Sriracha sauce or any type of Asian chili sauce. They are too spicy for this dish.
Variations
Try using Apple Jelly, Blackberry, Peach, or Strawberry Jelly instead of Grape Jelly. BBQ Sauce can be used instead of chili sauce.
Equipment Needed
You will need a 6-quart slow cooker for this recipe. I use the Hamilton Beach Set & Forget 6-Quart Programmable Slow Cooker.
How Long To Cook
Either cook on LOW for 4 to 5 hours or on HIGH for 3 hours.
How To Serve Spicy Grape Meatballs
Spicy Grape Meatballs are typically served as an appetizer and they are great for a holiday party. Just set some toothpicks out with them. They can also be eaten as a main dish. Serve them over rice, mashed potatoes, or in a sub roll.
This recipe can easily be doubled if your slow cooker is large enough.
Storage
Leftovers will keep for 4 days in an airtight container in the refrigerator and can be reheated in the microwave.

I first made this recipe in the late 70โs. It was great then and itโs never lost itโs appeal. Your suggestions for leftovers sound good, but explain who ever has any of those when they made these!
Lol! They do usualy get eaten right away.
