Cake Mix Bars- only 6 ingredients needed to make these easy and delicious bars with lots of chocolate flavor.

A chocolate and condensed milk mixture forms an ultra gooey and rich chocolate middle for these bars. They’re like a cross between a brownie and a gooey chocolate chip cookie. So good!!
Ingredients
- White Cake Mix– yellow cake mix can be used instead. I recommend using Betty Crocker or Duncan Hines cake mix.
- Eggs
- Vegetable oil
- Sweetened Condensed Milk
- Chocolate Chips– I use semi-sweet.
- Salted Butter
How To Make Cake Mix Bars
- Mix together the cake mix, eggs, and vegetable oil. Mixture will be thick. Use an electric mixer or mix together with a wooden spoon.
- Press 2/3 of batter into bottom of a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Microwave the sweetened condensed milk, chocolate chips, and butter until melted. Pour chocolate mixture over the crust.
- Drop remaining batter by small spoonfuls over the chocolate mixture.
- Bake for 20 to 24 minutes. Let cool before cutting into squares.
Storage
Can be stored at room temperature for 4 to 5 days. Store in an airtight conatiner to keep fresh.
These Cake Mix Bars make a wonderful base for an ice cream sundae. They can be cut into 18 squares. Perfect for a large crowd.

Ingredients
- 1 box white cake mix
- 2 large eggs
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
- 1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 heaping cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup salted butter,, cubed
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, mix together cake mix, eggs, and vegetable oil. Mixture will be thick.
- Transfer 2/3 of the batter to the prepared baking dish and press it to completely cover the bottom.
- Place condensed milk, chocolate chips, and butter in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave for 30 seconds and stir. Microwave for another 20 seconds. Stir. If not completely melted, microwave another 20 seconds.
- Pour chocolate mixtue evenly into baking dish.Drop the remaining batter by small spoonfuls over the chocolate mixture.
- Bake for 20 to 24 minutes. Let cool before cutting into squares.

I made this today and it turned out well. I subbed shortening for the butter and mayo for the veg oil.
I think I would like a ratio where two boxes of cakes, cake mix are used for the bottom layer and the topping and the same amount as the recipe for the chocolate layer. The proportion of cake mix crust and chocolate layer was not what I thought it was going to be.
However, I do think this was a good recipe and my family really liked the bars.
