Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken Dip is creamy, cheesy, spicy, and loaded with shredded chicken and classic Buffalo flavor. Made with cream cheese, mozzarella, blue cheese, sour cream, and Buffalo sauce, this easy crockpot dip takes just minutes to prepare and cooks hands off until hot and bubbly. It is one of my very favorite creamy dip recipes.

Creamy Slow Cooker Dip

I love making dips for parties in my slow cooker. Just turn the slow cooker to low once it is cooked and let your guests help themselves. No need to worry about it getting cold and having to reheat it.

This Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken Dip would be a great choice for a game day snack. It’s creamy, spicy, and salty. Just the thing to eat with a nice, cold beer.

Why You’ll Love This Recipe

What Buffalo Sauce To Use?

I used TABASCO® Buffalo Style Sauce to add some heat. It’s my favorite Buffalo hot sauce. It has plenty of heat and that characteristic Buffalo flavor that pairs so well with blue cheese. Made from red cayenne pepper, distilled vinegar, water, salt, and vinegar, it still has that recognizable TABASCO® flavor. You can use whichever Buffalo Sauce you prefer.

What Kind Of Chicken Works Best?

Rotisserie chicken is my favorite shortcut for this recipe. Simply remove the skin and remove the chicken from the bones and then shred or chop it. You want it in fairly small pieces so it is easy to scoop.

You can also use leftover baked chicken, grilled chicken, or poached chicken. Both white meat and dark meat work well.

Can I Leave Out The Blue Cheese?

Absolutely! Blue cheese gives Buffalo chicken dip its classic tangy flavor, but if you’re not a fan, you can leave it out.

What To Serve Buffalo Chicken Dip With

Serve it with:

  • Tortilla Chips
  • Celery Sticks
  • Carrot Sticks
  • Pita chips
  • Cucumber Slices

Can I Make Buffalo Chicken Dip Ahead?

Yes! You can assemble the dip up to 24 hours in advance. Cover it and refrigerate it until you are ready to cook it. If starting with cold ingredients, you may need to add a little cooking time in the slow cooker.

How To Store

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Reheat gently on the stovetop or in the microwave, adding a splash of milk if it is too thick.

I don’t recommend freezing this dip. The dairy can separate and cause an unpleasant texture.
