Bubba Gump Copycat Shrimp is a spicy seafood dish with lots of flavorful broth that’s perfect for mopping up with some crusty bread. It has a taste similar to New Orleans-style BBQ Shrimp, but it’s much healthier.

Just a little butter is used to make the broth and cook the shrimp. The main ingredient in the broth is clam juice. You could use shrimp stock if you’re lucky enough to have some.

I’ve never eaten at a Bubba Gump Restaurant even though there’s one just minutes from my home in Charleston. There are too many great restaurants in Charleston.

Bubba Gump Copycat Shrimp

I don’t know how this recipe compares to the original but I know it tastes delicious and it is quick and easy to make. I based it off of recipes I found online that I tweaked a little. Serve Bubba Gump Copycat Shrimp with crusty fresh bread as an appetizer or over rice as a main dish.

Bubba Gump Copycat Shrimp can be made in under 20 minutes!

Recipe Tips

  • Use fresh or high-quality frozen shrimp for best results.
  • Be careful not to overcook the shrimp. They will cook a little more in the broth.

Storage

Leftovers will keep in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 2 to 3 days. I like to reheat shrimp in a skillet over medium-low heat.

very good. Only thing, I thought it was a tad too spicy/tangy. So along with the white sugar I added a teaspoon of brown sugar, Really set it off. Thank you
