1

2
cups
semi-sweet chocolate chips
Batter
1 1/2
cups
Bisquick
3/4
cup
milk
Vegetable oil for frying
Powdered sugar for serving
Instructions
In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
Using an electric mixer, cream butter until light and fluffy.
Add both sugar and beat until combined well.
Beat in eggs one at a time, stopping to scrape down sides of bowl at least once.
Beat in vanilla extract.
Add flour mixture and mix just until incorporated.
Fold in chocolate chips.
Shape dough into balls using about 1 tablespoon for each one.
Place on a
parchment
or wax paper lined tray and freeze for 1 hour.
Pour about 2 inches of oil into a Dutch oven and heat to 350 degrees. I use a
thermometer
to make sure the oil stays at the right temperature.
To make batter, whisk together Bisquick and milk in a medium bowl. If too thick, stir in a little extra milk.
Dip about 4 balls into the batter at a time, leaving the remaining ones in freezer until needed.
Fry until golden brown and remove to a paper towel-lined plate. Repeat with remaining dough balls.
Serve immediately or keep warm in a 200 degree oven.
