Crockpot Honey Soy Chicken with Broccoli- shredded chicken breasts and broccoli florets are cooked in a sweet and sticky sauce. Serve over rice for a home-cooked meal that is much better than takeout.

low sodium soy sauce

honey

tomato paste

apple cider vinegar

sesame oil

red pepper flakes

cornstarch

chopped broccoli florets
hot cooked rice
sesame seeds and green onions for garnish
Instructions
Place chicken in a crockpot and top with diced onion.
In a medium bowl, mix together soy sauce, honey, tomato paste, ginger, vinegar, garlic, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes. Pour over chicken.
Cover crockpot and cook on low for 4 hours.
Remove chicken from crockpot and shred. Set aside.
Combine cornstarch and water in a small bowl and whisk well. Add to crockpot along with broccoli. Cover and cook on high 5-10 minutes.
Add chicken back to crockpot and let it sit to soak up the flavor of the sauce for 5-10 minutes.
Serve with rice and garnish with sesame seeds and green onions.
Notes
To change this recipe up, try using snow peas instead of broccoli.
