Crockpot Honey Soy Chicken with Broccoli- shredded chicken breasts and broccoli florets are cooked in a sweet and sticky sauce. Serve over rice for a home-cooked meal that is much better than takeout.

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • ¼ cup diced onion
  • ½ cup low sodium soy sauce
  • ½ cup honey
  • ¼ cup tomato paste
  • 2 tablespoons grated ginger
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 2 garlic cloves, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 3 tablespoons cold water
  • 5 cups chopped broccoli florets
  • hot cooked rice
  • sesame seeds and green onions for garnish


  • Place chicken in a crockpot and top with diced onion.
  • In a medium bowl, mix together soy sauce, honey, tomato paste, ginger, vinegar, garlic, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes. Pour over chicken.
  • Cover crockpot and cook on low for 4 hours.
  • Remove chicken from crockpot and shred. Set aside.
  • Combine cornstarch and water in a small bowl and whisk well. Add to crockpot along with broccoli. Cover and cook on high 5-10 minutes.
  • Add chicken back to crockpot and let it sit to soak up the flavor of the sauce for 5-10 minutes.
  • Serve with rice and garnish with sesame seeds and green onions.


To change this recipe up, try using snow peas instead of broccoli.
