Strawberry Cream Cheese Coffee Cake is a wonderfully moist and tender coffee cake with chopped fresh strawberries, pockets of cream cheese, and an almond brown sugar topping.

Batter

softened

cut into cubes
Topping

sliced strawberries

all-purpose flour

granulated sugar

brown sugar

softened butter

sliced almonds
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees and spray a 9-inch square baking dish with cooking spray.
Make topping. Stir together flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar and salt in a small bowl. Cut in the butter until crumbly. Set aside.
Make batter. Use an electric mixer to beat butter and sugar until fluffy.
Beat in eggs one at a time.
Add almond extract.
In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
Add flour mixture to butter mixture, alternating with milk. Add flour in 3 additions and milk in 2, beating on LOW speed just until incorporated.
Fold in the cream cheese cubes.
Transfer batter to prepared baking dish. Scatter strawberries on top.
Sprinkle topping evenly on top.
Bake for 50 to 55 minutes. Scatter almonds on top when there is about 15 minutes of baking time left.
Let cool at least 15 minutes before slicing.
