Old-Fashioned Peanut Butter Pie is a cool and creamy no-bake dessert with lots of salty/sweet peanut butter flavor. It's a light and refreshing pie for summer, but I love it anytime of year.
In a large bowl, use a hand-held electric mixer to beat peanut butter, cream cheese, and powdered sugar until smooth.
In a separate bowl, using clean beaters, beat heavy cream and cream of tartar until stiff peaks form.
Gently fold half of the whipped cream into the peanut butter mixture and then fold the remaining whipped cream in.
Transfer to pie crust. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
Notes
You will need a pre-baked pie crust. You can use a frozen, refrigerated, or homemade pie crust. If using frozen or refrigerated, follow package directions for baking. If using homemade, blind-bake for 15 to 18 minutes in a 375 degree oven.An oreo or graham cracker crust can be used instead.
