Slices of Granny Smith apple form an edible shot glass for these Caramel Apple Shots. Made with Caramel flavored vodka, these jello shots are sure to get your party started.
Cut apples in half. Use a melon baller or a spoon to hollow out apples, leaving a 1/4-inch border. Brush cut surfaces with lemon juice.
Pour apple cider into a small saucepan. Sprinkle gelatin on top. Let sit for 2 minutes.
Whisk over low heat until gelatin is dissolved. Whisk in melted caramels.
Remove from heat and whisk in caramel vodka.
Pour into apple halves. You should have extra liquid. You may need to top off the apples as some of the liquid may seep through. Place apples in refrigerator and check after 20 minutes. Add more of the caramel mixture if needed.
Leave apples in refrigerator for 4 to 24 hours. Cut into slices and serve.
Notes
Microwave the caramels at 20 second intervals to melt them.
