Slow Cooker Brunswick Stew

Slow Cooker Brunswick Stew with lots of chicken and pulled pork is a real crowd pleaser. Brunswick Stew is a classic southern food and it lends itself well to being slow cooked in a crock pot.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups shredded cooked chicken
  • 1 pound pulled pork
  • 1 medium sweet onion, chopped
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 1/2 cups frozen lima beans
  • 1 1/2 cups frozen corn
  • 1 1/2 cups frozen sliced okra
  • 1 medium red potato, diced
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce, I use Sweet Baby Rays
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 (8-ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 1 (14-ounce) can diced tomatoes, undrained

Instructions

  • Combine all ingredients in a 6-quart or larger slow cooker. Stir to mix.
  • Cover and cook on LOW for 5 hours.
