Sugar Cookie Bars
Sugar Cookie Bars taste just like sugar cookies but are so much easier to make. A soft, tender, and buttery sugar cookie dough is topped by a yummy buttercream. Scatter some sprinkles on top for a festive look.

Instructions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Line a 9x13-inch pan with foil and lightly grease it. Set aside.
Using an electric mixer, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes.
Add egg, sour cream and both extracts. At this point the mixture may look curdled. That is ok.
Combine flour, baking powder, and salt. With mixer on low, add flour mixture and mix just until incorporated.
Transfer dough to prepared pan and press evenly into pan.
Bake for 15 minutes. It will look a little undercooked, but it will continue to cook some after you remove it from the oven. Let cool.
Make frosting. Beat butter and powdered sugar until mixed well. Add extracts and milk and beat until smooth and creamy.
Spread frosting on cooled bars. Sprinkle with sprinkles.
Notes
I use salted butter unless otherwise noted
