Ingredients

tablespoons
bacon grease

tablespoon
butter or olive oil

medium yellow squash,
sliced into circles
1
medium sweet onion,
sliced
1
teaspoon
sugar
1
teaspoon
salt
1/2
teaspoon
black pepper
1/4
teaspoon
dried thyme or tarragon,
or use about 2 teaspoons fresh
Instructions
In a large pan, preferably cast iron, heat bacon grease and butter. Add squash and onion.
Sprinkle sugar over squash and onion. Cook over medium-low heat for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Stir in salt, pepper, and thyme and serve.
