In small saucepan, combine strawberries, sugar and water. Bring to a simmer. Simmer for 10 minutes. Mash down on the strawberries some. Let cool.
Pour strawberry mixture into a fine-meshed strainer set over a glass measuring cup. Press down on strawberries with the back of a spoon to get as much liquid out as you can.Refrigerate until cold.
Fill a glass halfway with ice. Pour the starwberry syrup and gin into the glass.
