Nashville Hot Chicken Dip

To make this delicious southern dip you mix 3 packages of cream cheese with some buttermilk to thin it out some and add a little tang.

For flavoring and spice, 1/4 cup of hot sauce (I use Texas Pete), some honey, garlic powder, and cayenne pepper get mixed in. To make this dip super quick and easy, I use frozen popcorn chicken. Cook it according to package directions and then chop it into smaller pieces so that it will be easy to scoop up with tortilla chips.

For that characteristic Nashville Hot Chicken flavor, a mixture of honey, hot sauce, and cayenne pepper gets drizzled on top. Add some sliced green onion and pickle slices for some color and more flavor and you’re ready to dig in with some tortilla chips. So good!! Perfect for game day snacking.

I can’t imagine not liking this, it looks yummy! I think I will try the suggestion to add butter if I want extra richness, because doesn’t butter make everything better? There are so many times I want to make an impression with a good dip, and this one I will definitely make. Thanks for the recipe!

I made this dip yesterday for the 4th of July. It was a hit. I did add melted butter to the sauce as most recipes for Nashville sauce I’ve found have it. I also doubled the chicken by using an entire bag of Tyson popcorn chicken. Really, really good!

  3. Girl…this sounds amazing! And I should know being from Nashville! I’ll make this for sure…great for upcoming football games. Simple and delish!

      1. Could you use regular milk with a package of RANCH DIP mixed in?
vs. Buttermilk? Some of us oldies need it a little more mild. Let me know
