Lightened Up French Onion Dip and Muffaletta Dip

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 medium onions, cut in half and thinly sliced into half moon shapes
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper
  • 1½ teaspoons chopped fresh thyme or ¼ teaspoon dried
  • 1 cup nonfat Greek yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  1. Heat oil over medium-low in a large pan. Add onions and cook, stirring occasionally for 10 minutes.
  2. Add sugar and salt and continue to cook, stirring every now and then, until golden brown, about 30 to 35 minutes. Turn up heat a little if necessary.
  3. Add pepper and thyme and remove from heat. Let cool.
  4. In a medium bowl, stir onions and greek yogurt together.
  5. Mix in Worcestershire sauce.
  6. Refrigerate for at least a few hours before serving.
