Easy Dessert Salad

If you’re tired of bringing the same old pasta salad or potato salad to every potluck you go to, change it up with this Easy Grape Salad. People will quickly become converts. There is nothing not to love about this easy dessert salad that’s so sweet and satisfying.

Ingredients

The grapes (I use both red and green) get coated in a creamy mixture of cream cheese, sour cream, sugar, and vanilla extract. I also like to add some toffee bits for added sweetness and extra crunch. You could chop up a few Heath bars instead for the same effect.

A mixture of brown sugar and chopped pecans gets added on top. It’s as easy as that!

Tips For Making Easy Grape Salad

  • Be sure to wash and dry your grapes well. I like to rinse them in a colander and then spread them out on paper towels to dry for a few hours.
  • One pound of grapes equals about 2 1/2 cups.
  • It’s perfectly alright to cut the grapes in half if you wish.
  • Use crushed Butterfingers of chopped Snickers bars for a change in flavor if you wish.
  • Leave the nuts out if you like or use walnuts instead.

This was a great way to use up a bunch of grapes before they went bad. I’ll definitely make it again!

  2. CIARA CROUCH

I made this for Christmas dinner a day ahead of time. My mixture was really runny when it was time to eat and even days later it’s like eating grape soup!

  3. I just made a batch and used Greek yogurt instead of the sour cream, it’s very creamy. I also used stevia instead of sugar…added some crushed heath bars…very good

  4. I used red grapes only. I was short on cream cheese I used strawberry cream cheese instead, I used about half of what the receipt called for. I also used strawberry yogurt as a filler. I added mandarin oranges, apples and mini marshmallows. Topped pecans with caramel drizzle. OMG it was gone before I got to try it. So it’s safe to say it was a hit.

  5. Has anyone eaten frozen grapes right out of rhe freezer by themselves? They are sweet ans cold perfect for summertime snacking especially if you have diabetes.

  6. The. First time I made this , I forgot to buy pecans.
I crushed up some of my Honey Bunches of Oats
Cereal with just a little brown sugar for the topping.!
Everyone loved it so much I never made it any other
    way.

  7. I serve most things so my guests can “have it their way.” Even tossed salad gets put on the table in many small bowls. Then the picky ones or ones with allergies are not excluded. They make their own. In the case of this grape salad, I am not into a lot of sweets so beside the chilled grape concoction, I have several bowls – granola, brown sugar, pecans, walnuts.

  8. I made this to take to Christmas party. Instead of toffee I put in crushed candy canes. It was a real hit. Delicious according to each and every one that ate it.

  9. I’ve been making this for years, but I use crushed Butterfingers candy bars on top. Always a huge hit.

If going to store overnite, is it ok to add to add toffee bits before hand or wait till serving time? Will the soften?

  11. Can you cut the grapes in half? I want to serve this at a party that will have small children; halved grapes are safer for little ones. Thank you 😊

I have been making this grape salad for years and it is always a hit. You know it’s good when you get asked for the recipe.

  13. I’ve made a similar salad numerous times in years past, and it always so delicious and refreshing! The only differences were that nuts and brown sugar were not in it. Instead, we mixed the rest of the ingredients and let it sit covered overnight in the refrigerator. Then when ready to serve, we added some kind of crunchy granola cereal or crudely crushed granola bars. Always a crowd pleaser! Think I will actually make it for Christmas this year – colors are perfect!

You don’t have to use the nuts and no need to stir the topping in before serving unless you want to.

  14. I’m salivating right now…all those grapes and they are creamy, with some crunch on top. Looks so delicious
