Chipotle Pork Burgers

This Labor Day, instead of grilling up regular burgers, why not grill up pork burgers? Chipotle Pork Burgers have plenty of smokiness and heat and they are the perfect way to kick off the last holiday of summer. With so many cuts and preparation methods to try and endless flavor combinations to explore, pork is the must-have this grilling season.

Only a few ingredients are needed to make these flavorful Chipotle Pork Burgers. Minced chipotle peppers in adobo sauce, chopped cilantro, and garlic powder are added to the ground pork. They’re shaped into patties, grilled to pick up even more smoky flavor and covered in a blanket of melted Colby Jack cheese. Some sliced avocado adds creaminess and tames the heat of the peppers. Instead of serving them on regular buns, I love to use onion buns for added flavor.

All these ingredients can easily be found at your local Walmart, the ultimate source for your barbecue essentials and great pork deals on your grilling favorites.

This summer has really flown by in record time. And it has been a summer of milestones for my family. Both my son and daughter got their first real jobs. Yay! My son just started freshman year in college and my daughter just got her driver’s license.

As much as I enjoy the extra time, after 18 years it feels so strange not to have to drive kids around anymore. I almost feel completely unneeded.

That’s why it’s important to be in charge of the food. Then you’re always needed! This Labor Day I’ll be manning the grill and I’ll be grilling lots of pork. I love that pork is such a versatile meat and comes in so many different cuts.

In addition to using fresh ground pork for burgers, pork ribs, tenderloin, and chops are all great grilling choices. And don’t forget about brats! They are always a favorite as we head into tailgating season. You can find Johnsonville Brats, the #1 brand nationally, at your local Walmart. You can also find Smithfield/Farmland pork chops and ribs, all of which are proudly raised in the USA.

To add some spiciness, look for A-1’s new spicy flavors: Sweet Chili Garlic, Spicy Chipotle, and Smokey Black Pepper. They would be the perfect condiment for Chipotle Pork Burgers.

  1. These are so good and easy! I leave the chipotle out for my toddler and me and my husband put it in ours and mix a little of the adobo sauce from the peppers into mayo for a spicy mayo to go with it. Yum!
